Greetings in the name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ!

What a mighty God we serve!  We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year!  The year of 2019 was an exciting year!  However, 2020 will be just as exciting because the God that we serve is still in control.  Jesus Christ is still on the throne.  Our theme for 2020 is, "Destined to Live Holy".  Our base scripture for 2020 is found in 1 Peter 1:15-16.  The Bible says, "But as he which is called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation:  Because it is written, be ye holy, for I am holy" (KJV).   This year our focus will be on holy living.  Many people do not understand how to live holy.  Holy living is living according to what the Word of God says without compromising in any area.  It means obeying God's Word to the fullest.  In 2019, many people struggled, although they really did not have to.  The reason why they struggled is because they tried to do things their way instead of doing things God's way.  The Bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not unto our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).  To trust in God is one example of holy living.  Since many people chose to live unholy instead of holy in 2019, they faced many difficulties in life.  Disobeying God's Word in any area is a form of unholiness.   2020 is a New Year!  We must realize that God has given us another chance to get things right.  We want to encourage you to take the time to reflect back on how good God has been to you over the past years.  We also encourage you to come up with a plan on how you can serve God better in 2020 than you served Him in previous years.  There is no doubt that God deserves our best.  However, in order to give Him our best we must follow Romans Chapter 12, verses one and two.  In verse one, the Bible tells us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is our reasonable (spiritual) service.  Then in verse two, the Bible tells us to be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds (KJV).  When we really think about what those scriptures are saying to us, we will realize that those scriptures are telling us that in order to live holy, we must be willing to make sacrifices.  The Bible tells us that God created us in His image after His likeness (Genesis).  To be more successful in 2020, we must learn to be more like God.  The more we are like God, the easier it will be for us to live holy.  Once again, we wish you all a Happy New Year!  Remember to keep God first in every thing that you do.  Satan will try to trip you up in many areas.  However, always remember that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).                                                                                                                          Pastors Ron & Janice
